This Single Cask Release from Wemyss comes from the distillery of Mannochmore, within the Speyside region. Most of its malt whisky goes into the blended Scotches owned by Diageo, but we have the rare chance to taste this through this independent bottling. Lively and invigorating with fresh green apple, sweet fruit and a tart lime finish.
Tasting notes
NOSE: Icing sugar, lime curd, fondant icing and vanilla sponge cake. Grassy meadows can be detected in amongst the apple turnover that is this dram.
PALATE: The vanilla and lime follows on to the palate, with an added spiciness of freshly ground green and rose pepper. After a short while in the glass this dram develops further with some fruity notes such as peach and apricot adding to the complex mix of flavours bursting out of this dram.
FINISH: Long and fresh, the perfect aperitif to whet your appetite.
