The Big Smoke Heavily Peated Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 50%

The Big Smoke Heavily Peated was created to blend malt whiskies from some of the Scotland’s most iconic distilleries, selecting only the smokiest whiskies to put into one bottle. Intentionally bottling them in its most rugged form, this whisky is reminiscent of traditional Islay malts; full of peat smoke and coastal sweetness, powerful yet caressing. Everything you would expect from a blend of exceptional smoky whiskies. The previous bottlings, in the old packaging were at 46% but this new look launched in Summer 2022 has this beautiful dram bottled at 50%.

Nose: Neck pours need a bit of space to breathe but when it does, the blast of peat comes. Salty seaweed and ocean smells, with buttery green fruits, especially apples, pears, candied citrus and smoky bacon.

Palate: Bright and salty initially, ashy peat, creamy mouthfeel, sweet vanilla and more barbecued fruits. As you sip on, the peat smoke builds on you.

Finish: Touch of vanilla and warming spice, more peat follows and a pleasing residual sweetness.
