Teeling Whiskey Company and Galway Bay Brewery, one of Ireland’s most celebrated craft breweries, have been collaborating for years on what has now become the cult classic “200 fathoms” – a modern interpretation of an Imperial Stout, aged just once annually in Teeling’s Small Batch barrels.
It was inevitable that one day Teeling would bring this collaboration full circle, taking back the stout-seasoned barrels and finishing a whiskey with their rich, dark, malty influence. The result is a true celebration of flavour-focused innovation.
Essentially, Teeling provides Teeling rum barrels to Galway Bay Brewery to make their Imperial Stout and then when they are done with the maturation of Imperial Stout, the barrels get returned to Teeling for them to age Teeling Small Batch into these same casks.
Other Teeling Small Batch collaborations are Teeling Small Batch Ltd Ed Amber Ale.
