Islay | Limited Edition | 70cl | 61.2% – 63% abv
The legendary Octomore .3 series now available in a set of five. Very limited sets available!
The Octomore .3 editions are distilled from 100% Islay barley. They are single estate, single vintage bottlings distilled from barley grown on farmer James Brown’s land, which lies around two miles south of Bruichladdich Distillery. The name for the range originated from this farm. These whiskies are generally matured in a mixture of ex-American and ex-European oak, subject to change for each edition.
Octomore 7.3 (63% abv)
07.3 was distilled in 2010 from grain harvested from a single field called Lorgba in 2009. The malt was peated to 169ppm and the spirit it gave matured here on Islay for its entire life with casks of American oak being married to casks from the great Spanish wine growing region of Ribera del Duero.
Octomore 8.3 (61.2% abv)
Malting the this Octomore grain produced results that were unprecedented, the readings came back at 309.1ppm. Following a carefully controlled trickle distillation, Octomore 08.3 was matured in 56% first fill Bourbon casks, the remaining in ex-Paulliac, Ventoux, Rhone and Burgundy casks.
Octomore 9.3 (63% abv)
Raised in Irene’s Field on Octomore Farm in 2011, this uber-provenance single malt was later peated to 133ppm, distilled and filled into 134 casks. Predominantly second-fill, the gentler influence of the wood allows more of the locally grown barley flavours to cut through the legendary peat smoke.
Octomore 10.3 (62.9% abv)
Distilled in 2013 from the 2012 harvest, the Octomore 10.3 has been peated to 114ppm, and matured for six aged years but crucially only in first-fill American whiskey casks sourced from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels.
Octomore 11.3 (61.7% abv)
Malted to 194ppm, the barley used in making the Octomore 11.3 was distilled in 2014 from the 2013 harvest of Concerto barley grown on the Octomore farm. It was fully matured on Islay for five years in first-fill American whiskey casks from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace and Jack Daniels.
