Ruadh Maor is the name given for the peated whisky made in the Highland distillery of Glenturret. One of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, Glenturret was founded in 1775, and was known for being the core component in making Famous Grouse Scotch whisky. Today, it is owned by the Lalique Group, and has since won a slew of awards for its single malt expressions.
This rare peated single malt is made even more interesting with an uncommon finish using Guyanese rum casks, and bottled at a cask strength of 54.2% abv. Non-chill filtered and no colour added. This particular batch release comprises just 641 bottles.
Tasting notes: Loads of tropical fruit, burnt toffee, banana sweets, gingersnaps, black pepper, and ash.
