This expression has been matured in first fill Bourbon barrels, before it is finished for just over two years in Château Cissac wine casks, from the French wine region of Haut-Médoc, near Bordeaux.
The result is a whisky that combines the earthy spirit of Benromach with the tannic and fruity notes of cherries, sticky dates and prunes provided by the wine casks.
