This single malt from Laphroaig is part of Duncan Taylor’s Octave series, which has undergone a second maturation in octave casks to refine the whisky, enhancing its colour, taste, form and character. This bottling comes from Laphroaig, one of Islay’s iconic distilleries known for its medicinal, and creosote-like phenolic spirit character.

This independent bottling of Laphroaig was aged for 11 years in oak casks, and spent the final 9 months in a sherry octave cask. Octaves being sherry casks that one eighth of a normal cask size. This single cask release from cask #5634779 yielded only 81 bottles, and is presented without chill filtration or added colouring.
